The flower industry has changed dramatically over the years mostly in the source of many of the flowers (South America). In order to fill the demand for roses and other flowers South American flowers are generally cut and shipped days in advance of actually being delivered to the florist. Even when shipped overnight directly to a florist these flowers under go extremely high temperatures that shorten the vase life of your flowers by over 50% or more, also many flowers arrive rotten or molded. South American countries do not have the same pesticide restrictions that the United States has in place. We all suffer economically by purchasing flowers dumped in the U.S. by these foreign flower growers.

Because of the strict pesticide regulations in California we buy a large portion of our flowers from local Salinas flower growers and other California growers. We think that selling reduced pesticide treated flowers is the responsible path to take for our customers, our employees and our earth.
