| Your
cut flowers will live longer if some simple steps are
taken :
1. Display your flowers in a COOL
location AWAY FROM DIRECT SUNLIGHT and
drafts.Smoke
from cigarettes, and ripening fruit contain harmful gases
that will shorten your flowers vase life.
2.
Cut your flower stems every
couple days and place the flowers in clean room temperature
water with flower food mixed into the water. If
no preservative is available you can use a our
flower food home recipe.
(Water
containing measurable amounts of salt will kill your flowers
and should be avoided, water from homes with a soft water
system is not suitable for your fresh flowers.)

| Your
fresh cut flower stems from Flower Magik should look
nice and clean. |
After
a day or two the stems will start to brown, keep your
flowers living longer by cutting them and changing
the water. |
Rotting
leaves and debris in your vase arrangement are a major
factor in the vase life of your flowers. Remove all
leaves and debris from the water and flower stems.

Premature
Cut Flower Dying
The primary cause
of all of your flowers dying at once is "flower shock"
which is extreme temperature fluctuations from cold to
hot (from a cool room too a hot car interior) or a high
heat room temperatures ( 70+ degrees) display environment.
Avoid placing your flowers under warm air drafts. Air
conditioned offices normally cooled during the day are
often turned off at night, the very warm conditions are
enough to shorten and even kill your flowers overnight
during the summertime. Single flowers with a dropping
head is a symptom of the flower head not getting water
(see instructions
for cutting your flowers) Smoke
from cigarettes and ripening fruit contain harmful gases
that will affect your flowers vase life.
Flower
Food Helps
The vase life of your flowers can be increased by
30 to 50 percent if floral preservative or "flower
food" is used in your vase arrangement water. Flower
food will keep your roses in good condition much longer.See
our home recipe for flower food.
Cutting
Your Flowers

2. Place
the arrangement back in the vase with fresh water and
floral preservative.

in a specially marked container to add to your flowers
later.)
Step

these steps in a day or two.

types of arrangements is simply to make sure that the
floral foam is saturated with water.
