court yard. The court yard is surrounded by four buildings.
Each side is 230 ft long.
Three sides of the court yard buildings were rebuilt in the
1930s. The original court was used for shearing sheep, preparing
food and other types of work. In 1928 the Franciscan Padres
returned to the mission, created a garden in the court yard
and changed the use of the mission to one of training young
men to be Franciscans.
