Serra in March 31, 1782. Nicked named " Mission by the Sea".
Named for Saint Bonaventure (John Fidanza), of Bagnoreggio, Etruria,
Italy (The Seraphic Doctor). Ninth in the 21 California chain of missions.
Partially destroyed by the earthquake in 1812, rebuilt in 1816. Located
in the city of Ventura.
