A land mark for the city of Monterey. During the early days this lake was the source of fresh water informally named washer women's lake. Today the lake is a source for many types of recreation. Dennis the Menace children's playground is located in the park. A skate board park, and paddle boats are available in the park. A baseball park used for local leagues is located in the park. Group BBQ facilities are also available.
