Lover's Point in Pacific Grove

Lover's Point is located in Pacific Grove and is one of most well known and visited parks on the Monterey Peninsula. Lovers Point beach was purchased from the Pacific Improvement Company in 1902 and a cove was created using dynamite to blast the rocks. William Smith was credited in establishing the bath house and resort on Lovers Point. William Smith also built a Japanese tea house and garden on lover's point but only lasted a few years before it was torn down. The Pacific Grove Municipal Pool was built on the grounds then town down in the late 1950s.

In the early 1900s Lover's Point Beach was a very popular spot for sun and surf bathing and offered salt water bathing in the Bath House resort.

A Japanese restaurant and garden was built on Lover's Point in the early 1900's.
