The Carmel
river makes its way to the Monterey Bay

The
Carmel river is a much loved river its water habitat and is an excellent
spot for bird watchers. Great care is given to the native Steel Head
trout that migrate and spawn in the Carmel River. The Carmel River is
also the Monterey Peninsula's major source of fresh water.
Located:
From Highway 1 in Carmel, go one mile south of Ocean Avenue. Turn right
on Rio Road toward the Carmel Mission, turn left onto Carmelo Street.
