The
Fort Ord Dunes State Park is a newly opened state park (April 15,2009).
The park features expansive views of the Monterey bay. Formerly used
as a weapons firing range the dunes are now home for many endangered
birds and other wildlife. Leashed dogs are allowed only on the street,
and are prohibited from the dunes area, and beach.
