California’s First Theatre
Located on the corner of Scott and Pacific streets. Built in 1844 by Jack Swan and was a Saloon and a sailors boarding house for about two years. Minstrel shows and dramatic performances began in 1847. The theatre hosts old-time melodramas throughout the year.
