POINT
PINOS LIGHTHOUSE
Built
in the 1850s and operational as a lighthouse since 1855, the
Point Pinos Lighthouse is the oldest continuous operating lighthouse
on the West Coast. The original prism and lenses are still in
use in this electric powered lighthouse. John Steinbeck mentions
the lighthouse in his books Cannery Row, To a God Unknown and
Sweet Thursday. Located 2 blocks north of lighthouse Avenue.
Open Thursday thru Sunday, 1pm-4pm, admission is free.
