Vasquez
At
the tender age of 15 Tiburcio Vasques was the owner of
a saloon and dance hall in Monterey. In 1837 a dispute
with a few American tufts over the mishandling of his
women workers, a man was killed. Tiburcio Vasquez escaped
from being arrested and become a fugitive. Over the years
Tiburcio Vasquez robbed for a living and quickly became
a feared bandit. Tiburcio Vasquez and his gang were caught
in a robbery that claimed the lives of 3 men in the town
of Tres Pinos. He was hanged on March 19, 1875.
