Explore The Salinas-Steinbeck Tour

John Steinbeck attended the old Salinas High School in 1915. In a freshman class of 28 he was a popular student and was later chosen senior class president. John Steinbeck also became the associate editor of the school paper El Gavilan.

The old Salinas High School was located across from the post office near the Salinas Court House.
