In
the southern end of Monterey County is the community of Bryson.
Bryson was named after a settler who opened a small store in the
valley. Today the settlement of Bryson is still as secluded as it
was in by gone days with no services. The area is hilly, and in
the spring there are many wild flowers along the road side.
Hesperia is a 2-3 mile district that includes a hand full of houses
and the tiny settlement of Bryson. The district has a small community
hall. Hesperia comes from the Greek-Latin word for "the evening
star."
