Jamesburg is a tiny settlement south of Carmel Valley Village. The settlement was named after John James in 1886, one of the first homesteaders. Jamesburg has a tiny refreshment stand and a parking lot used for visitors to Tassajara Hot Springs. The road to Jamesburg is pleasantly covered by a canopy of lush oak trees.
