Prunedale is a growing town just north of Salinas. As the name suggests Plum trees were grown in Prunedale in the early days however the "farmers did not irrigate well or use fertilizers" and the trees soon died. – North County News Prunedale is a fast growing community with new housing and businesses locating in this country setting.
